One-Year Program | Basic Relaxation Certificate
In one year, you can earn your Basic Relaxation Certificate. This will allow you to perform basic relaxation massage in settings such as spas or massage therapy clinic.
While you will not be registered as a massage therapist, you can still earn an income from clients and further your education through hot stone massage, aromatherapy and spa therapies.
When applying for this program, select either “Weekday Delivery” or “Weekend & Evening Delivery” depending on the delivery you would like to enroll in.
Please note that you can switch between any of our programs and deliveries to complete your study.
This program has been approved by the Private Vocational Institutions Department of the Manitoba government. Students in this program are eligible as a student member of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba, the Remedial Massage Therapy Society of Manitoba, the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada and the Canadian Massage & Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association.
What does THE study look like?
You can choose to take your Basic Relaxation Certification through one of two options:
Option 1: Weekday Delivery
Students enrolled in the weekday delivery will attend classes from Monday to Thursday. The theoretical classes are also available online from home.
In February, these students will also pick up a weekly rotation in the Student Clinic on campus and a rotation in the Outreach Clinic each week.
Option 2: Weekend & Evening Delivery
Students enrolled in the weekend and evening delivery format will attend one seminar weekend each month, from a Friday to a Sunday, on campus for their practical classes. Weekend seminars are offered at either our main campus in Winnipeg or our new Satellite Campus in PAS. They will also attend one theory class online from home on Tuesday evenings.
The majority of the distance education delivery is self-directed. In February, students can choose to attend a weekly rotation in the Student Clinic and Outreach Clinic, or obtain those hours at a clinic that is closer to home. This option is especially good for students who live outside of Winnipeg.
Student Support
Regardless of what delivery you choose, you will be able to receive the student support and academic accommodations needed to complete the program. Our Student Support team will be available online on designated evenings to help you with any questions you may have as you are studying from home.
Tuition & Materials
The costs below reflect everything you need to complete your certificate program and start your career. Regardless of the delivery, the tuition and materials remain the same.
