The One Thing You Won't Believe About Our Application Process

EVERYONE HAS ANXIETIES ABOUT ENROLLING FOR POST-SECONDARY SCHOOL, AND OUR STUDENTS ARE NO EXCEPTION.

HERE’S A MESSAGE FROM OUR ONLINE ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR, BRIE TIMINGS, ON finding the right college for you.

Over the years I have seen so many students come through the program, and each student is unique in their wants, needs and dreams for their life. They’re also unique in their learning styles and what types of people they blend with and which they don’t.

Every person, including you has a unique situational make-up that needs certain factors to set you on the path to success.

For example, we’ve all had bosses that we hated and others loved. We’ve all thrived with certain teachers that others couldn’t learn from. We’ve all had friends that were special to us, but other couldn’t understand.

Because we recognize that you so much more than just a number in a student roll, we want to make sure that you’ll be successful with us. That’s why we ask you to do this crazy thing called window-shopping.

One of our standard procedures in the Interview process is to ask you whether you have looked into other schools. If you haven't, we actually require you to go and do that.

You know why?

Because it's important to us that we are the right fit for you.

Here are the top three reasons students have chosen our school:

1. Leader in Curriculum
"The staff members are very receptive and willing to change and improve the program and I've seen that over the past year. I've also talked to other people who have taken their training in Massage Therapy at other locations and I feel that Wellington exceeds the standard in training their students to become excellent therapists. The course is difficult, but the knowledge and skills I have gained are definintely worth it! Thank you Wellington."

2. Family Atmosphere
"This college has been so much more than I could have hoped for in my choice of secondary education. They create an environment that makes it feel like the staff and students are family. That environment makes it more enjoyable to be at school, knowing you have the support of your instructors and peers. All of the instructors have such a passion inthe material they teach and often demonstrate a deep understanding of the information they deliver. This college teaches you about more than just massage, it teaches you to love what you do and delivers valuable life lessons. As hard as school can be and even through all the frustrations that may arise, I thoroughly love this college and would recommend it."

3. Passion for the Field of Massage
"As a student at Wellington College, I would like to say that my experience here thus far has been nothing by great. The instructors are very passionate about what they teach and are really down to earth people.
Coming from a university setting to a college setting was really refreshing. It's nice to be surrounded by people who are interested and are driven towards the same goal together.
I'm not saying that this school is perfect, but I will say that this school is very proactive. I've never been to a school where instructors and students work so well together to help make the school a better learning environment for everyone. Knowing that instructors and other academic leads in the school are listening to student input and can actually apply these changes as soon as they can is remarkable.
In all, nothing but love for this place!"

This blog post isn't going to be about putting down the three other schools in Winnipeg. You can check them out here:

Evolve College (formerly Manitoba College of Massage Therapy)
Robertson College Massage Therapy Program
Huia Xia School of Acupuncture and Massage

We encourage everyone to make the right decision for them. Of course, we hope that your right fit is us!
