The Pre and Post Event Sports Massage techniques offered through the Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies Inc., have been compiled and refined after several years of study and practical application at various events and collaboration with Sports Massage educators. Sports Massage dates back to the early Olympics and ancient Chinese Shaolin Temples. In the modules offered in this course, students will have the option to study various angles and aspects of all that Sports Massage entails.
This workshop has been approved for 16 Primary Credits with MTAM.
About the Instructor
Michael Harvey WC (Hons) BPAS, graduated from the University of Regina with an Undergraduate Degree in Physical Activity Studies with a Major in Fitness and Lifestyle and a Minor in Psychology. He also graduated from the Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies Inc., in Regina, Saskatchewan, with a Diploma in Advanced Remedial Massage Therapy. Since 1994, Michael has gained experience as an Exercise Physiologist and in 1997 he added to that experience, a career in Clinical Rehab Therapy (Massage and Exercise Techniques). For the last 11 years, Michael has been an instructor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation, Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Advanced Assessment and Treatment at Western College, while traveling to Wellington College in Winnipeg to teach Exercise Rehabilitation and Sports Massage techniques.
