Introduction to Somatics (Theory 4 hrs; Practical 2 hrs) - All levels

This course has been approved for 8 primary CEU's (MTAM)

Course description

In this course, the participant will be introduced to how voluntary control of our musculature is lost and the effect it has on our body. As well, this seminar will teach the participant specific exercise (movements) that will help break down habitual patterns our muscles develop as we age, which will allow us to gain back voluntary control of these muscles. This introduction focuses on the Flexors and Extensors of our core body and can be an extremely integral part of our overall treatment protocol for not only our clients, but ourselves as well. This introduction to Somatics will enhance a therapist's treatment plan for the pelvis, sacrum and lumbar areas.
