Michelle CastleMichelle Castle, B.Ed, RMT
Student Liaison, Instructor

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Manitoba in 1994, and spent several years teaching high school English before moving into student services and guidance counseling in rural Manitoba. Pursuing a new branch in her career path, Michelle began studying massage therapy at Wellington College. She graduated in 2005, earning the Principal’s Award of Excellence and representing her class as Valedictorian. After graduation, Michelle began her massage therapy practice in an Osborne Village clinic now called Evergreen Massage & Integrated Therapies, where she continues to see clients in the evenings and weekends.
Combining her experience and love for massage therapy and education, Michelle joined the Wellington College staff as Student Liaison in July 2005. This role involves coordinating admissions and financial aid, monitoring students’ progress and attendance, managing student records, providing academic and career guidance, and offering an open door for students needing support. As a professional educator, Michelle is also involved in revising and writing curriculum for Wellington College, continues to do some teaching in areas such as nutrition and study skills, and has presented workshops for instructors on topics such as effective instruction and critical thinking.
In April 2007, Michelle was elected to the Board of Directors of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba. She currently serves as a Director and as the Chair of the Continuing Education Committee for the MTAM.

 

Barb Cantley, RMT
Distance Education Student Liaison

Barb graduated from the Wellington College in 2008 with Distinction, and was honoured to receive the Dana Radcliffe Award. Prior to her Massage Therapy training, Barb worked in the dental field for 15 years as a customer service representative and executive assistant, as well as in management, marketing and advertising. She has always loved working with people and making a difference in their day. Barb loves the relaxing atmosphere of Massage Therapy, and the flexibility of making her own schedule and being her own boss. Currently, she is the Distance Education Student Liaison at the College and Outreach Observer at Health Sciences Centre. Barb enjoys her own practice, doing remedial massage, hot stone massage and Indian Head Massage. She loves to share her love and enthusiasm of massage with students and patients. Her aspiration is to expand her massage practice to include 1 or 2 other therapists, and expand her training to become a yoga instructor and aromatherapist

 

Shane ParringtonShane Parrington, RMT
Instructor; Clinic & Outreach coordinator

A graduate of Wellington College’s distance education program, Shane joined the staff in 2005 as an Outreach Observer at the Grace Hospital. Shane’s role at the College has since evolved and she is now working as Clinic/Outreach Observer Coordinator, and is the Basic Practical Instructor.
Shane’s goal is to create a clinical and outreach environment for students that provides a strong foundation for success at Wellington and as future therapists. She is pursuing her Certification in Adult Education at Red River College.

 

Colette ChabotColette Chabot MEd
Student Counselor

Colette’s 32-year career as a teacher and school counselor and her experiences as a workshop therapist and workshop leader at Renaissance Centre gives Colette a rare insight into the educational and personal needs of students of all ages.
Studying massage therapy can be intense and stressful, and Wellington College students are fortunate to have Colette’s expertise available to them. She is committed to the success and well-being of all our students.

 

Tricia NeillTricia Neill
Admissions Coordinator; Human Resources Administrator

Tricia graduated from Wellington College in 1999 and subsequently began working at the College as a member of the administration department. Tricia has also completed her Human Resource Management Certificate through the University of Manitoba.
Over the years, her roles has evolved into management, and while not a practicing massage therapist, Tricia believes she has the perfect balance between her love of business and her interest in the field of massage therapy.

 

Karen DelormeKaren Delorme
Receptionist, Student & Alumni Services

Karen is a graduate of Robertson College’s Medical Office Assistant program and has worked in a variety of positions at Wellington College since 2006. In her position as Registrar, Student and Alumni Services Administrator, Karen is responsible for coordinating and administering student records.
Karen is also dedicated to enhancing the College’s relationship with its graduates. She regularly communicates with alumni about issues and initiatives and is available to provide administrative services, including transcripts

 

Leanne Scatliff

Leanne Scatliff, RMT
Admin, Instructor, Publications, Web Admin

Leanne was introduced to massage therapy after suffering a knee injury while training in Karate. She graduated from Wellington College in 2000 with an Award of Merit for her thesis on Respiration.
After building a full-time massage therapy practice, Leanne joined the Wellington College in 2006 as administration, and an Instructor of Hydrotherapy and Research Literacy.
Leanne continues to work with the College Website, Publications, Conference Coordinator, Student and Alumni Services, and as Research Literacy Instructor.

 

Lisa TackLisa Tack, B.Ed, B.Sc.
Student Tutor

Lisa is a certified teacher who has been working as a private tutor since 2005.  In 2007, she enrolled in the distance education program at Wellington College.  Today, Lisa enjoys tutoring students in massage therapy teaching them how to study effectively.

 

 

Linda Jardine
Administration

Linda graduated from Wellington College in 1998 and began working at the College as Receptionist.  She left the College in 2002 to rejoin the Canadian Armed Forces.  This year Linda became part of the Administration staff once again on a part-time basis.  Although she has never practiced as a massage therapist, the knowledge has proved invaluable in performing various functions at Wellington College.
